Pinned is designed for small, private circles—not public reach. This policy explains what information Pinned handles, why it is needed, and the choices you have.
Information Pinned handles
- Account information: the unique account identifier provided by Sign in with Apple and the display name you choose. Pinned does not request your Apple ID email address.
- Content you create: photos taken in Pinned, captions, circle names, invite codes, and the dates those items were created.
- Safety information: identifiers needed to process content reports and the block choices stored on your device.
- Support information: if you contact us through this website, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit.
- Beta signup information: if you join the beta list, we receive your name, email address, intended circle type, and approximate group size.
How information is used
Information is used only to sign you in, create and operate private circles, display shared photos and widgets, preserve your private Memories, respond to safety reports, provide support, and maintain reliability. Beta signup information is used only to select and contact beta groups and to send Pinned beta or launch updates you requested.
Storage and sharing
App content is stored using Apple CloudKit. Circle content is shared only with people who have been invited to and accepted into that circle. Your private Memories are stored separately in your private iCloud database. Today's board hides older posts after the local calendar day changes, but shared records may remain stored until the related circle or account data is deleted.
Pinned does not sell personal information, display ads, use behavioral analytics, create public profiles, or track you across apps and websites.
Camera and photo access
Pinned requests camera access only when you use its camera. The current version does not request access to browse your photo library.
Your choices
- Edit your display name from Settings.
- Leave circles you no longer want to participate in.
- Report a photo or block its author from the full-screen photo view.
- Delete your account and associated data from Settings. Deleting an owned circle also removes that circle for its other members.
Retention
App content remains until you delete your account, delete an owned circle, or leave a shared circle as described above. Safety reports and support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to investigate, respond, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Beta signup information is kept until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or the beta and launch communication period ends.
Children
Pinned is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us through the support page.
Service providers
Pinned relies on Apple services including Sign in with Apple, CloudKit, push notifications, and App Store distribution. Their handling of information is governed by Apple's policies.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
